Exhibitor Success Story - AeroVironment
The Battery Show 2016 brought together battery industry experts from around the world to trade ideas and business. To give you an inside look on the benefits of exhibiting at The Battery Show we asked some of our exhibitors to share their experience. First up in this series is AeroVironment.
Our Battery Show goals
AeroVironment's auto OEM partners regularly attend and exhibit at The Battery Show. We feel that if you are in the battery industry, and your competitors and your customers are at the show, you need to be there too.
Although we speak daily with our customers, nothing is more important to us than face-to-face meetings with our current and potential customers. Each year, as a direct result of participating at The Battery Show, we meet our current and future partners, and customers for all our product segments from electric forklift chargers to testing equipment and residential and commercial charging stations for electric vehicles.
This year our 10x20 booth space allowed us not only to showcase that complete line of products very effectively, but also to hold contests at the booth to make it interesting for our customers.
But our marketing focus starts pre-show. We send email blasts to our current and potential customers, and advertise in industry publications, and that made a huge difference in our success at this year’s show. We also found after-show marketing programs helpful in making sure the ROI on our show attendance met our objectives.
All in all, our programs resulted in booth traffic that met and exceeded our expectations.
Invaluable face-to-face booth space
When it comes to exhibiting, The Battery Show’s booth space was ideal for allowing us to demo our products, go over specs and show the value of our products to customers face to face.
By having samples on hand, we could review the advantages and the value of the products with our customers, while our team learned more about our customers’ businesses. As we all know, this is not easily done through email, webinars or phone calls, so this was a core value of the show for us.
At The Battery Show this year our main product line was testing equipment, including the industry’s well-known AV-900 EX. We were able to show customers detailed specs and product information for our complete line of testing equipment. AeroVironment’s team also showcased our TurboCord Level 2 charger for electric vehicles, and had product demos available for our new PosiCharge ProCore, Battery Rx and Connect Rx. We have several product lines, and the 10x20 booth allowed us to present our line in the most effective way.
We would advise any company to always assess your ROI to make sure the show makes sense for you. Follow up with your leads and make sure your sales team spends time with your prospects to assess the value of the show for your company.
But for us the real cost benefits of exhibiting at The Battery Show come from simply getting to meet our customers in the same place, at the same time. It saves travel expenses and the time that many people don’t have nowadays to call, meet, or even email with you.
